This place is awful. how many people need to complain about rats, roaches, break ins, violence, flooding, terrible customer service, etc. before anyone believes it' it's amazing that someone got on here, read the 11 straight reviews saying "no" about vob, then asked for "honest answers" because apparently everything already written wasn't good enough, and then LEFT A POSITIVE REVIEW SCORE AT THE SAME TIME! Is that a ploy from management to get a positive review on here without everyone bashing them' way to try to boost your numbers, *ssholes.

Well, I'm one of those people who's "a little too optimistic" because I appreciate the many changes and look forward to more. The fitness center has come a long way from when I moved in in December. Many of the machines were not working when I moved in and now they all are. I'm a teacher and am very comfortable around children, so all of the "unsupervised children" you complain about (most of whom are repeat offenders), I have come to know on a first name basis and when I see them getting about mischief, I call them on it and correct them. If I see them in the pool area or gym, I tell them they need to go get a parent or at the very least, wait for me to leave and do it behind my back. I no longer bother with the maintenance request forms on the door because a birdie told me that requests filed through the AIMCO website get better attention because they go through corporate and I have found that to be true for me. Furthermore, you can track your maintenance requests there and see who was assigned to a job. If they don't do a good enough job, you have a name and a face to call on it. As for the dead fish, I live right on the water and saw the situation from start to finish. I predicted something was going to happen before it did. It was not VOB's sole responsibility to clean the mess as we share the lagoon with neighboring condominiums. The stinky fish mess was resolved as quickly as possible. For days, we had maintenance guys outside our apartment with nets fishing out the carnage. They had to cancel all of last month's water aerobics classes because I was practically the only resident who showed interest. The fitness boot camp is starting up and I must say that no other complexes in the area offer anything like it. There is always an opportunity for free food such as a party (at least once a month) but no one ever commits to attending which screws things up for those of us who are genuinely interested in getting involved and thereby getting our money's worth. I don't know that I am truly an optimist; I am a self-proclaimed realist. This is not the best apartment complex in the world, but the staff is making efforts to make it better. Unfortunately, because of fair housing, they can't really choose who their residents are and that, I think, is their greatest downfall.

I've been reading past reviews and this 'godnchicn' person has been commenting positively for years. I don't see how he/she/it could have so much interest in this place without some sort of ulterior motive. If this was a NICE place I could see why someone would try to combat negative reviews, but this just doesn't make any sense to me. Does he/she/it actually live there? I noticed one posting state that the real reason why he/she/it feels safe here is because he/she/it is actually one of the cockroaches living in the walls. No danger of maintenance worrying about him/her/it since the cockroaches, rats, and criminals have taken over the place! Oh, and 'godnchicn' actually 'calls out' the children 'getting about mischief'? Yeah, right.

It is very sad that people who said that living at VOB is not as bad as people say. I lived there 2 years and in the last year there were like about 10 robbery issues not including a lot of people hanging out late at night making loud sounds with music, beer and everything else. WHY I WOULD ADVISE TO LIVE THERE! DON'T MOVE THERE, IT WOULD BE THE WORST DECISION YOU WOULD EVER MAKE PERIOD. Maybe if you have experience living at a JAIL this place might be ok for you. But for 99% of the people including children VOB is not save and it is just trash. I have a couple friends living there right now and they are waiting until they lease end and they move out too. Why they moving out? They got other complains too that I haven't notice. I said good for them because I wish them well.
