My 1 year stay at Villages of Baymeadows was a complete nightmare. When I first moved in there was mold in the bathroom (a 1' by 1' area). It took maintenance about a week to come out and "fix" the problem. They just shot a little paint over the spot and that was it. One month later and the mold was back just as bad as before. Maintenace came back out and told me that it was not mold, but it was just dust (I have never in my life seen brown/green dust accumulate on a ceiling). So this maintenance guy just painted over it again. Finally the ceiling became so wet and moldy that a hole formed in it. It turns out that the bathroom in the apartment above mine had a toilet leak. So the excellent maintenance staff came back out and cut a 3' by 3' hole in the bathroom ceiling. Then they duct taped a garbage to the ceiling and it stayed like that for a week (while the garbage bag accumulated about a gallon of toilet water from the apartment above). 3 months after the initial mold problem, it was finally fixed for real.

And how about the wonderful swimming pools at Villages of Baymeadows. The pool was great for about the first 3 weeks; then the pump broke and remained broke from August until December. The water turned green and it became a duck pond. Of course, I could make the 1 mile trip to the main pool which was usually filled with a ton of kids and had some weird slimy stuff on the bottom.

And finally came the crime. There was at least one noticeable drug deal in the parking every week. Late night police sirens were also commonplace. One night after picking up my girlfriend from work and returning home, a police search helicopter was beaming its spotlight down on us while many officers on foot scurried across the parking lot and behind the building searching for some fugitive or something.

This place may seem kind of nice at first glance but DO NOT be fooled; I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone.
