I have lived in the villages of baymeadows for nearly 3 years. Im a law student and its one of the closest apartments to the school. This place has a lot of pros and some cons as well.

Pros:
Maintenance is pretty quick, not incredibly but they get the job done.
The pools can be nice; usually pretty clean.
Appliances and finishes are actually pretty nice/classy for the price range.
Lot of security officers
Good amount of parking
Nice location for getting to things, bad for traffic though

Cons:
-Expensive for the size, made even worse in that they are very sketchy about renting rates: My neighbors paid 160 bucks less than i did and they moved in 2 years later, so when it came time to renew my lease, i went and checked the website. The current listed price was about 704 for my 1/1 apartment that I was paying 830 for over the past 2 years. They called to renew my lease and told me i would ahve to pay 850 to keep the apartment. I asked why new renters got it for 704 and im asked to pay 850, they replied that they would call me back with a new price because "the market and prices flucuate by the day" and they are in the works about getting a new price figured out based on my 3 or 4 complaint calls.
- On the end lots you see a lot of less than desireable people at the aparments next to this apartment complex (these people like to knock down the fences for ease of walkthrough as well)
- People love to use their rentable garages for motorcycle meetings and noisy drinking parties.
- Parking lots flood like crazy in storms, as do the grass, ( i wouldnt want a first floor, lots of flooding problems)
- Lots of small issues with the apartment fit and finishes: door seals are like non-existent, some bugs (though they do spray pretty consistently), carpet is cheap and not installed well.
- In my experience there was a 3 month period where the pool wasnt cleaned and the water turned greenish black, making it embarassing to have friends over because we have a pool view. ( i complained and they said one pool company quit and the new one wouldnt start for a couple months). This only happened one time that i have seen.
- I would say the worst part of the apartments that i have seen is things not in thier control. As many have noticed in Jacksonville in the last few years a large in flux of less than desireable people that just seem to wander around, this is especially bad on baymeadows road and therefore near the apartments. Crime seems pretty low here though, only had one problem of a bike being stolen while locked up outside the apartment.
- only real noise problem is the pool brings a LOT of kids in the summer, most of em dont even live in the apartments. Im talking huge groups of like 10-20 kids that yell and hang in the pool all day. They are crazy noisy, but thats mid-day, not too bad any other time.

Well, I'm glad you had a good experience with this place, but I have to disagree with a few things. #1. Security isn't EVERYWHERE! I, myself and a new neighbor has had car vandalism recently, and we never see security out at night around our building. Casa Stella. #2. Staff is completely rude! maintenance is not good about getting things done in a timely fashion. #3. I can't see how it's a recommended place to live with just one or two good reviews. It's not a good place to live at all! If anyone is reading this don't move here! The staff is turnover is horrible and people are rude if you start having maintenance issues. You had more cons than pros, sooooooo why recommend this place!!!!
