A lot of hidden fee's dont move here!!!

I moved in on Dec 08. We got a promo deal where we got 110.00 off our rent so our rent shoulld be 1029.00 a month. For Jan, Feb, March and now April our rent has NEVER been the same. For the month of April they says we owe 1108. It seems to be alot of hidden fees that are added on to the rent that the leasing office didnt make us aware of such as trash,water(we were told was included), pest contol, other utilities and fees(whatever that is)..which i figered ok some of those are understandable but when the utilites and other fee's started getting higher and higher each month i went up to resident relations to see what was going on. Come to find out we have been paying twice for electric. I was told that there office dosent communicate well with their own electric company and they had no idea that we have jea so that is why they were still charging us. Now I find that really hard to believe when u have to have a jea confirmation number to move in. You would think the leasing office would give the confirmation number to the other electric company so that they can stop charing us. It seems like the right hand dont know what the left hand is doing over there. Be that as it may, the lady in the office Amanda..said we need to show a jea bill from when we first moved in so they can fax it to the other electric company so they can stop billing us. I have put in several req for someone to call me back so we can confirm if the problem has been corrected and no one NEVER does. when i do call i am told i need to speak with Amanda, i guess since she is the only one who knows whats going on but she never return phone calls either.I have never had to deal with a staff that is soo unhelpful. The people in the leasing office seem all nice and sweet until u move in..then they want nothing to do with you. They reffer you over to resident relations for EVERYTHING!!! On top of that we have roaches and the floors are uneven upstairs. U can tell its a old community that they tried to remodel. I could go on and on and on about how terrible it is. Trust me DONT MOVE HERE!!!!

Yet another response from the VOB staff. Ok, so it's JEA's fault...does that justify the FACT that you never return phone calls to your tenants?

thats soo funny, I used to live there and had the same problem with jea at another community. and it ended up being jea's problem. they say anyone who registers online verses calling in may run into the same problem. apparently it is very common. so i guess i won't schedule service online anymore. not the community's fault. they do not control jea and jea can not discus your account due to hightened privacy laws in the usa

OceanDudeJax is/was an employee. He (she?) said so in another complaint for this community. Actually, he is quite rude and this is a relatively nice response.

Read your lease. If your bill is not in compliance with your lease talk to Resident Services. If you do not get satisfaction, or are tired of dealing with them call 866-883-9213 and talk to corporate Resident Services. They will help. Good luck.

ITS NOT JEA'S FAULT BECAUSE WE DIDNT REGISTER ON LINE. WE CALLED AND DID IT OVER THE PHONE FROM THE LEASING OFFICE THAT SAME DAY! ITS THE PEOPLE IN THE LEASING OFFICE FAULT BECAUSE THEY SHOULD HAVE NOTIIFIED THERE ELECTRIC COMPANY WITH OUR CONFIRMATION NUMBER.
