I've lived here since February 2009. Visit and see it for *yourself* all it has to offer. Walk the grounds in different areas also as each as a different feel to it...a nice variety.
The whole compelex is built around an old golf course which is now a HUGE meadow with paved paths to walk on (they keep it nicely mowed) for dogs and people to enjoy. If you like nature, this is the place with old trees, ponds, etc. The rent is reasonable, and there is a wide variety of bldg./units to rent. I have no complaints at all. It is close to Avenues Mall, the beach, hospitals, etc.
There is an on-site Customer Service group dedicated to handling any issues and do so promptly and with genuine concern. I asked for a furnace filter change (left vmail after hours) and they were here first thing in the a.m. ALL the staff are polite, knowledgeable, and responsive. They are constantly driving around picking up trash, etc. It is old, but painted nicely on the outside and the inside renovations inside are A and perfectly done, clean, with upgraded appliances (see web-site for kitchen pics) in the Casa Terra (orange bldgs.) You cannot hear your neighbors thru the walls, and there are no stereos blasting inside (residents have a set of rules to go by for noise).

Give me a break! Why didn't you mention the rats, the cockroaches, the vandalism, the electrical problems, or the plumbing problems? Why didn't you mention the security issues, or the green pools, or the garbage problems? My guess is that you've been an employee since February 2009. Another related guess is that either you'll become a jaded %$@$!@(*^& like the rest of the office staff or you won't fit in and will either leave or get fired.

So how long have you been an employee?
From: LovetheSun Date: 05/10/2009
I am a resident. Perhaps, you would be happier in another community. Your response is very immature sounding.

i agree with anonymous, this has to be a new employee that is tryin to mk this place sound better than what it is. i am a resident and there are several problems especially with roaches or palmento bugs!!! i live in casa stella behind the orange blg casa terra and i have never lived anywhere out of all my 12 yrs in jacksonville with so many roaches. they make u pay for pest control(which they dont tell u that its included in your rent when u move in) but i figured let me call and have someone out to spray since we are paying for this service. they always come right out the next day but the roaches are still here. i called 4 times already. i use to live across the street at bently green (behind chilli's on baymeadows) and never had any problems with roaches!! this place is sooo not worth the money at all.

First of all, whoever wrote the comment about Bently Green...you must be an employee there. My do you feel like you have to bash The Villages? Are you just trying to make them sound bad to boost your own sales. I used to live at Bently Green and the beavers....I mean rats over there must have come from some Teenage mutant ninja movie. They don't just eat the garbage they eat the garbage can. And talk about roaches....they are taking over and they might have to start charging them rent to keep from going bankrupt. That place sucks!! Enough about that. My experience with Villages has been excellent and the staff is very polite. I would recommend this place to anyone. The ammeneties they have far exceed the compitition in the area. I have checked out most of them just recently. By the way...the pools are never green. I see the pool guy cleaning them every day. What other bad things can you say. Just because you have a bad experience with a leasing agent doesn't mean that it's a bad place to live...get over it!!!!

It amazes me that this person claims to live in Casa Terra, but has no problem with noise. Casa Terra backs up to a bar called Reefers, which you can hear the music and people outside until at least 2am. Also, there have been several incidents in the last two years where gunshots have been fired at Reefers, and the "thugs" escape the police through Casa Terra. Either this person is the heaviest sleeper in all of humanity, or a brand new employee, especially if they are referencing the VoB website for pictures of the upgraded appliances. Welcome to the neighborhood, brand new employee!!

Lived in Casa Tera since 4-09 and no noise problems. Young couples on either side and I never hear them having sex, maybe they hate each other??? My calls for repairs were many, at first, but they came within two hours and fixed them. I have not heard any loud music , noisy neighbors, etc. Only complaint is people are literbugs and all that trash certainly attracts bugs, but I have not seen any.

I lived in this complex for 3 years On the side closest to the little champ. Every complaint I have read is absolutly true. I am very suspicious of anyone who writes something positive about this complex especially about the management. The response for repairs is laughable and all my neighbors and myself had problems with palmetto bugs and roaches. When you called you would be lucky if they showed up within days not hours like the above post states.
