Initially I was won over by the enthusiastic staff and overall look and feel of the apartments at the Vintage. Upon moving in I quickly learned this was merely a surface polish on a troubled rental community. The attentive and courteous treatment I received as a prospective renter turned to indifference bordering on rudeness once I moved in. Problems I had with the apartment initially were never fully addressed and subsequent issues were dealt with as if they were doing me a favor to look into it. I have lived here 6 months and the beautiful pool they show you on your tour has been locked up most of that time. They refuse to unlock the gates to even allow you to sit around the pool when the office isn t open conveniently claiming the pool is broken; 6 months and it s still broken' The reality is they want to control who uses it and when as if it is a private club and not an amenity that you are paying for. The rent is considerable, to its credit the appliances and high ceilings do make for a nice apartment. The free satellite TV is terrible though the signal quality is poor, the guide station is out more often than not, and basic stations like Bravo and FX are not included. If you want high speed internet you have to opt for DSL since they will not allow Comcast on the premises. DSL service is poor in comparison to cable and is more expensive since it can t be bundled with your TV service like cable. The lack of a balcony especially considering the lack of pool access is something to consider and don t take a ground floor apartment unless you want to listen to every footstep from your upstairs neighbor. Also pay attention to closets which seem bigger in the model setup until you move in and realize there is very little storage. There garbage disposal area is always a mess because the compactors often don t work and people are forced to leave their trash lying out. Finally I thought paying a little more would yield a nicer safer community but in Jan 2007 we had a carjacking. There is no security on premise or gates so we also face constant solicitors. I am not here to rant or complain I made my mistake and have 6 more months to deal with it I just wanted to provide some insight into matters which had I been made aware of would have changed my decision to rent here.
