Looks are deceiving...Not worth what you pay.

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2008
From the road and driving through the front half of the complex - the place is gorgeous. Just wait until you live here a while.
Over the years, specially the last two, we have had several women attacked and robbed going from the parking lot into the apartment. Mostly it occurs right as they clear their stair case. A few years ago, they found a body in the dumpster. However, the dead woman did not live here. She was dumped by someone who also did not live here. They must have heard we seldom have a working dumpster.
The buildings are old and paper thin. I can hear my neighbor get out of bed, walk across the floor and pee in the bathroom in the morning. I can hear his feet squeek on the floor of the tub while he showers.
I can hear the neighbors in an adjoining bedroom argue, their alarm ring, and the phone ring. The former tenant had an answering maching and I can quote their outgoing message!
Neighbors next door have discovered their stereo and love the bass tones. I don't.
Late night, I can hear the drunks argue in the parking lot. In fact, you can hear EVERYTHING in the parking lot. I am severely over the folks that play their car stereos so loudly while they sit in the parking lot.
Speaking of the parking lot, if you come home late...say after about 8:00 p.m., the odds are real good that you have to park and walk the length of two buildings to get to you apartment. The comments from the balconies of the buildings across the way are not encouraging and those two women mentioned elsewhere in this rant came home after 7:30 p.m.
Here, you have to atticipate your repair needs because, over the last few years, I have NEVER seen them repair ANYTHING sooner than 4 weeks. Several times I have had repair people come in, look at the problem and, without talking to the management team, say they have an emergency and have to leave. You have to turn in the repair request again and wait 4 more weeks. There has been several times where I went to the office for a service request, spoke to someone's face, and they never turned in the request.
It is true about the water going off frequently. Former management teams would let us know when. One of the neighbors was in the middle of coloring her hair when they shut it off. I was all soapy in the shower on another time. I also was in the middle of laundry - had a meeting that afternoon. The water was off all day and I had to run up to the store to buy a new shirt for the meeting!
It is not the apartment managers' fault that the kids run screaming, yelling, and using foul language while they play in the breezeways outside our door; or that the kids lean their bikes against and scratch the cars (mine included); or that they jump up on and down on their aparment floor so hard that the blinds on the windows rattle, the a/c vent makes noise, and the ceiling fan swings in the apartment below. I blame the parents who have not taught their kids self-control or how to respect other's property; but then, the adults here have not learned those lessons.
The quality of people renting here has deteriorated a lot. However, according to the law, the management team here are required to rent to anyone. They supposedly do a credit check and background check. Hmmmmmm.''''
A few years ago, they were replacing the siding on the buildings. I saw termites, carpenter ants, and an assortment of unwelcome guests in the walls when they pulled off the old siding. I reported the termites. Then, a few years later, when moving furniture around, I found that a few termites have made their home in my furniture. I was not amused.
I could be wrong but way back when, the owners/management team (we have had several of both) used to have get togethers at the pool for the community at least once a month or once every other month. The current group does nothing. I am not sure if that is why the quality of tenants and service has deteriorated so much.
Regarding all the comments about the security gate. In all the years I've lived here, that thing has not worked more than two days in a row in any given year. I don't know why they keep going through the expense of fixing it because some idiot will crash through the thing and break it. Then it remains open for several more months and the cycle begins again.
This place used to be wonderful. No so much anymore. I plan on leaving ASAP, not renewing my lease this time, going to go month-to-month until I get out of this place.
In response to a comment about the dogs, I've lived here for a while; the dogs have not been a problem. There was one beautiful, sweet, but large dog that the owner would let roam. Also, a group of little kids that have been tearing up the place used to throw stones at the patio of a neighbor trying to get their dog to bark. Not unlike the teens that used to throw stones at the cars in the parking lot trying to set off the alarms.
I've checked the prices of homes versus what I pay in rent. I could be living in a very nice home in the same area for the equivalent in mortgage payments.
I have become very disappointed in this place. I can't wait to leave. bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC
