I was unable to look at the apartments before I moved from Wisonsin becasue I had received a position in Jacksonville. I went basically on price and size when selecting.
My advice is DO NOT take their word for it. And if the management team doesn't live in the complex they work for, you have to wonder. I learned this the hard way.

The apartments are old and any repairs you can see they did it the easiest and quickest way possible, but not the right way. My carpet had a smell to it that attached itself to everything I owned. A very bad musty and stale smoke smell ( and that description is giving it alot of credit). The apartment itself I could i have lived with. But the "clientel" of the complex left somthing to be desired. Drugs and prositution, violence..the whole works. Let me just say I never walked outside after dark and during the day you had to watch your back, as soon as I got into my apartment. The door was locked and stayed that way. I barred my bedroom door at night with my desk.

However, the prices are dirt cheap and the management was always nice and courteous to me(probably because I payed my rent on time).

I ended my lease early and moved out. They did not even argue.
