I lived here in 2004. We wanted to move back to Key West from Big Pine and decided West Isle would be our best choice since we had lived there before and liked it a lot. The leasing agent was very nice, gave us a tour and then whammo - the rental rates have skyrocketed since I live there in 'o4. We would love to live at West Isle again but we just can't spend that kind of money right now. I guess we'll be staying in Big Pine.

Get use to it - the rates for ALL RENTAL PROPERTIES in KEY WEST have jumped. Expect to pay more for less space than on the mainland. Plus you need first, last and security deposit or THREE MONTHS RENT to move in anywhere except the cheap tenaments like West Isle and Ocean Walk. Of course, if you like the ghetto, these places may be for you. Stay up the keys for lower rents but you will pay for it in gasoline back and forth to work. So what's the point?
