My wife and I lived here for the past 3 years. We selected an apt on the second level facing the water near the front of the complex but not overlooking the main road. As in many complexes your experience is directly related to your location within the complex. We did not want a ground floor apt because of bugs, nosey neighbors looking in everytime they pass by, water coming in when it rains, and especially thieves coming in through the windows and screen room. We did not want an apt overlooking the parking lot so we did not have to hear car horns, kids playing or have headlights cominging into our windows at night. We didn't want a third floor level since carrying groceries up would be a needless pain in the butt and the roof would conduct heat into our apt. We did have to put up with the upstairs neighbor noise as a concession. It wasn't too bad. The apt in itself is a good value for the area. The size is good, 2br 1200sq ft, and it came with a washer/dryer inside free along with free 70 channel cable and water. Usually in other places a w/d is $40/mo, water and sewer is $50/mo and cable is about $40/mo.
The grounds are not perfect but are generally clean, there is little police activity in the complex and the maint crew is okay. We needed to call them twice with regard to plumbing issues and once with regard to the AC. They responded the same day and fixed the pipes and AC within 24 hours. The neighbors were generally well behaved but sometimes they would blast the music at the car wash area and some weekend parties got a little loud but never more than a few times per year. Like I said before, the joy you have here depends on where your apt is and who your neighbors are.
The pool is good and the tennis court is good as well. The sauna is moldy and the workout room is good but a little small. Treadmills, stationary bikes and a nautilus machine. We have had a few problems while living here. I came out to the parking lot one fine day and found the cover to my motorcycle had been stolen and on another occasion I come downstairs to find the door to my car had an amazing dent in it. The entire right side door was caved in, did anyone leave a note' Dream on.
The office staff does a decent job, I certainly don't expect them to be our nursmaids but they did a good job of handling our needs and were always friendly to us. Get them the rent on time though or you get a letter, not too unlike most places.
When we began looking for an apt in Kissimme we physically went to 20 other complexes in this area and listed Lake Tivoli, Hideaway Bay and Bermuda Lakes as the best value. In the final analysis Bermuda Lakes was our choice and we are glad that we decided to live here.
