We moved here from Michigan in April 2004. We had everything set up with the office staff prior to our arrival. Having suffered through all three hurricanes at our apartment, we are glad to say we had little to no damage. Because of our close proximity to Kissimmee Airport, we had power back on within 24 hours for the first two storms and within 5 hours for the third. Repair crews have been working round the clock since mid-September to repair all the damages. We are moving into a larger apartment here as we are expecting a baby in July. The office staff is kind and generous and have always worked with us when we needed something. While I could do without the bugs, I know it's part of living the Florida life. (They have pest control every 6-8 weeks and more frequently if you request it.) We have been blessed with relatively quiet neighbors, though we have seen KPD here a few times. The complex recently added a security patrol, making everything feel safer. The only real issue I have here is a lack of cupboards and storage space. We have a storage unit up the road as we don't have enough space here. I have small kitchen appliances in my bedroom closet! Edited to add: We've now been here four years. There's been a constant turnover in office staff, however, at least the Maintenance Manager has remained. We had the same pipe break in less than 90 days, but repairs were made quickly. There is a garbage pick-up fee, but it is because they have a private company pick up the garbage outside your apartment rather than requiring you to drive it aroudn to the single dumpster in the back of the complex. It's a $12 value to me since we walk out in the morning with a toddler and a armful of bags. Besides, who wants to put their trash in or on their car to drive it around'
