So I have ups and downs to write about.
This is LENGTHY but PLEASE READ ALL OF IT!
I think it will help very much in your decision!
Ranging from semi-happy to down right terrifying experiences.
Ups being we've had ok experience with the office staff.
We were able to get into our apartment fairly quickly but at a price.
Parking in our part is decent (seen worse and seen better).
Even though maintenance left our door OPEN for a WHILE, nobody bothered our stuff or apartment, neighbors will leave notes if your tire is flat or low.
Neighbors tend to watch out for each other here, whether they are social or not, if something is not right, they usually notice.
Dogs are always on leashes from what i've seen.

Now the downs..

Halloween a person was running through the complex carrying a gun and waiving it around, might be a hoax but with all the "interesting" neighboring apartment complexes and tweenies here, it's only safe to assume it was real.

1. You really can smell weird smells.
I swear there is a dead body or something rotting in the "land fill" behind our apartment complex.
The stench is un-godly at times, and other times is non-existent.. maybe that's because it's masked over by the 10 people (all being chain smokers) who live downstairs.
Yes .. 10! and no it's not a commercial rental either.

2. Noise is rather un-nerving:
You can hear quite a bit, i've personally heard my neighbors banging and slamming at ALL HOURS of the night, they go outside and talk at voice levels equivalating to a loudspeaker and continue to chain smoke causing us to be sickened.

In the next building over, there is a man who likes to stand outside windows and stare up and then throw rocks and start screaming at some female who screams right back for hours into the night.

3. The critters.. ah yes.. that was fun!
Not being a florida native.. I had no idea alligators.. HISS!
Apparently that ODD noise.. is the alligators 5 ft away from our bedroom window HISSING at night.

SNAKES!!!!!
We had a water mocasen (spelling') that found his way up to the second floor and tried to attack my children and fell off and onto our neighbors head, there was a HUGE!! BLACK!!! snake by our neighbors bedroom window.
What happened to it' I don't know I left and did not return to the apt, that did it for me and our rental agreement.
Lizards galore and really cute tree frogs, that bring snakes.

ROACHES! FLEAS! WASPS! and ODD BEATLES!
No we don't have pets either.
However after we complained the office staff was relatively quick on getting a pest control person up here to spray..but I didn't like the fact that they told us to go out to Lowe's and get our own spray and just spray the wasps.. OK i'm just gonna SPRAY about 200 wasps.. sure..that sounds like a GREAT IDEA!...we pay rent, they spray!
but when our dirty neighbors decided to move all their roaches came flying up to our apartment. yay.

4. They're so called "renovated" apartments.
I'm not very impressed, our oven wasn't connected and maintenance was very peeved to come out, then when they realized it was more than just "plugging it in", I think he was ready to insert his foot in his mouth.
Dave is the best I think, ask for him, he will actually fix it.
They claim it's new carpet, however with the fleas and pest problems we had day 1, I believe they "dye" the carpet instead of actually replacing it.
It was an old scam they used to do in another state we lived in, they finally passed a law prohibiting it.
They essentially painted right over MOLD and WATER LOGGED WALLS!
The paint within the 2nd day of moving in was already peeling, by the 8th day it's actually pulled itself and rolls down (like bad wallpaper), the wall is still soggy and the pipes broke leaking into the apartment causing a perma mold that is not fixable.
OUR HEALTH HAS DETERIORATED SINCE MOVING HERE!

5. The Parking lot "renovation"
They went out slapped some tar down in the same day it cracked and by the 3rd day it already has these HUGE ant hills sprouting everywhere.. and snake holes.. watch out for the snake holes bordering the lawn and the lot.

6. Maintenance..
Maintenance has a habbit of going into your apartment for fix it tickets and leaving your house open and not coming back to close it.

7. Odd happenings..
We we're never really supersticious people.. until we came here.

They were desperate to rent our apartment.. since we've been here between these "odd" happenings and our loud noisey neighbors.. we maybe have slept a total of 8 hours combined.. 97% of the time we've been here we can't sleep.
Doors open by themselves, closets rattle in the night, strange red stains start appearing on your walls, red stains appear on your carpets and other stains appear on your carpets(hence my dye theory prev mentioned), odd smells, smells of rotten things flow daily through the apartments.
I have actually started to do some research, we think something may have happened in this apartment prior to our residence from these stains that are now showing through that was not disclosed to us.
Per FL law I don't believe they have to disclose if there was a homicide, suicide or any type of death unless you are buying the property (another reason we left).
One of my children started refusing to even go into the apartment he hated it so much.

8. The Airport
You have planes flying over your apartment, it's a disaster waiting to happen.

9. The rooms are always either scorching hot or freezing cold.
