Mediocre for long term living

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I'm at the end of my second year on my lease in the same unit. The first year was actually better than the second. At first it was a clean, yet dull, looking apartment complex. The second year the entire office staff changed, and became very impersonable. If you have any problems, forget about them being taken care of. The management is more worried about the outward appearance of the complex. Painting and landscaping has impoved making it a beautiful complex, but nothing has been done about the insides of the apartments that are falling apart. Carpets are old, moldings are coming apart, appliances break frequently. (I waited 6 days in the florida summer heat for a new AC unit after mine broke down.)
Right now my biggest issue is the drainage system. Our entire parking lot floods so high it floods over the sidewalks, even after the lightest of rains. It does not drain, so it sits there for days and creates a MAJOR bug problem. (Not to mention this is sewage water just sitting there festering.) I have to kill 3-4 roaches a day in my apartment because they are simply flooded out of the grass outside and seek sanctuary in my apartment. My complex cares NOTHING of this problem, and I have complained weekly for at least two months. I'm simply ignored.
If you're okay with bugs and unresponsive management, then it's okay to live here. The neighbors are pretty considerate, the kids mind themselves and my particular area is quiet. But if you want an actual apartment complex that will respond to you, I suggest somewhere else.
