As a person outside looking in, this place looks decent. Don't be fooled.

Me my fiance' and my newborn son moved here at the end of Jan. 2008. Everything seemed okay at first but after the first few months we started to notice a few things.

For one, the walls are paper thin and our neighbors are SO NOISY. It sounds like their kids are running into the walls! And at all times too... the morning and at night. The people in the neighborhood aren't very quiet either. Often times we'll hear loud thumping music coming from their cars, loud talking and screaming either out in the parking lot or in the breeze ways, and occasionally...gun shots.

I guess they were having problems with someone shooting off BB guns in the neighborhood because i wasn't the only complaint. We have a BB bullet hole in our kitchen window. (It still hasn't been fixed and its been at LEAST 4 months since the first time i reported it and I also reported it a second and a third time). Not only have BB guns been shot off in the neighborhood, but real guns also. Not a very safe place for anyone, especially kids, but you'll see them running all over the place anyways. Where are the parents these days'

There is also a lot of drug dealing in here. Almost every other corner you turn you'll see some random person just standing there, cars and people pulling up to him or her... and you just know whats going on. There's also people who just sit outside and sell drugs. Not a place where you want your kids to be around.

Well, because of all the 'action' going on here of course the police are always around. They've calmed down the neighborhood a little with all of the drug dealing and guns going off by providing a security guard at night. He'll drive around in a golf cart, patrol the neighborhood and he'll be at the gate often times checking ID's and keeping track of who comes in and out. Actually I've only seen 2 different cops who do security at night, and they are both very nice.


As far as maintenance and the office goes, we haven't had a problem except for getting our window fixed. Our AC broke one night and they guy came in and fixed it no problem. The people in the office are okay. Some are nicer than others. There is one woman in particular, although I don't know her name (heavy set ------- american woman who's office is closest to the pool)... she is a .... very unpleasent woman. She's snobby and any time I've had to seal with her she's always given me an attitude. My fiance' too. I know she isn't like that with everyone because I've seen her deal with other people and she seemed to be kind to them. I don't know what her problem is, maybe she doesnt agree with my being caucasian and my fiance' being ------- american and us having a mixed child, and honestlyI think that's what it is because we have never given her an attitude or a reason to mistreat us.

Overall, I do not recommend San Marco Villas (the previously known Venetian Isles).

(Also, they raised their rent up from $775 to $825 for the one bedroom apartments. Definately not worth it in my opinion. They are way too small, and its worth looking for an apartment elsewhere.)
