We moved to Mallard of Wedgewood for the great find of value and the location is unbelievably close to everything. Sam's Club, Mall, Wal-Mart oh yes they are all so close to you. The wonderful safe feeling of the sheriff's office right down the road. Wow, my husband and I thought what a great find, and the $150 deposit. It was like angels singing to us. We moved in, and the carpet was not even new like most apartments have upon move in. The garbage was broken so we could not even throw our boxes away right away. (This is a common occurance for this apartment) I just wanted to run away. Then in our master bathroom a leak began. Called for maintenance request and they would put plaster over the leak and it would stop for a while and new leak would form a few weeks later. The lady in the office had the nerve to ask me WHAT I Was DOING TO MAKE IT LEAK! One night we were sleeping, and in the bathroom was the loudest crash! We went a running, and the ceiling above the bathroom calapsed. What a mess. The maintenance guy came and the plumbers came, and finally fixed the problem. But the worst was NOBODY cleaned up the messes they left. Who cleaned up the messes me. Not to include we had a leak from the other bathroom that went in the master bedroom that stained the carpet. What the clincher will come later.... Needless to say we put in a notice to move 5 months after move in and was informed that we would be responsible for the rent. So being that we are people who were always felt STUCK in the this apartment that was really horrible. We had to stay. What a feeling it was to be very unhappy with a place we learned to hate. The day finally came our lease ended. We moved. Then we get a notice that we owe money for the STAINED CARPET and trash. This is my experience. IT was horrible. I would not recommend a roach to move in this place. The pool is nasty, they mailboxes always have trash, and there was never any parking. It was a bad experience.

Just wanted to let you know the Mallards is under a new management company and new staff in front office. The place is really looking up and has awesome potential to be the best place in Lakeland for the price.
