I gave this place a great review when i first moved in, but after living here over a year, i have to say this place sucks! There is a huge gaping sinkhole right next to my unit that nothing has been done about in the 14 mos that i have lived here so far.The hole is big enough to drive your car right into, and is creeping towards my unit as it grows, and is infested with racoons and rats. Roots breaking the surface of the lot along with patches of non paved rocky terrain make the parking lot seem more like a construction site when coupled with the 6 foot deep hole by my unit. The laundry is a joke-if you select whites(hot water)in the laundry room the washers won't even come on, so there is no real hot laundry period, and the washers work when they feel like it, along with the device you have to use to load your "laundry card"(if you don't have a debit or credit card you will not be able to use the laundry)not to mention the washers will just shut off in the middle of a cycle leaving you wet and soapy.The driers may have never been cleaned(full of hair, lint,baggies,garbage under the lint trap. I live upstairs in a unit where i have my own stairwell. The stairwell is infested with termites and disintegrating faster than my patience. I've been trying to get someone to fix it for 7 mos, and today called city code enforcement as i believe it is a safety hazard for me and my family.(77 coats of paint and a gallon of wood putty does not constitute a legitimate repair)They had the terminex man come and spray my steps with some of their strongest poisons and didn't even knock on my door. Well i found out when my wife walked down the steps with our two year old and saw poison signs everywhere-thanks for the heads up' We have frequently recieved non profesional postings threatening us about this or that. If someone DOES come to fix something you better hope he hasn't been drinking, and judging from the quality of some of the repairs i've seen thats not likely. The maintenance men just stare at me like i have two heads when i pull into here. It's terribly uncomfortable, this feels like a very unfriendly place. I think some people own horses judging by the shear amount of manure in the lawn. there are random holes in the lawn that are well disguised. My daughter fell into one and cut her lip. In another instance the maintenance man warned me to watch out for the holes, and like a logical human, i had to wonder why he didn't fix the holes instead of warning people about them. Some of the landlords that own individual condos will rent them to anything with money. I've seen people running around here naked in the night not even knowing where they are domestic abuse right in the lawn,endless police prescence 4 diff tenants per year in some units...but then i don't even know where i am-a condo community or the southside!

UPDATE 3/09/09

As I await my move out date on April 1st, things continue to deteriorate here at autumn chase. Today they were putting a post in the lawn to keep uhauls and tenants from driving on the lawn to unload groceries, or move in or out, and not more than 6 feet from them is a large sinkhole in the lawn.(this hole is not to be confused with the 14x12x6 giant sinkhole) I registered two complaints about the hole with the office in the last year, and had mentioned it in the above review as one of the maintenance men pointed it out to me to watch out for it. So here they are having just put the post in, driving the cart away with a bunch of dirt and a shovel, yet did nothing about the hole that is bordering the sidewalk. I can't even believe it. My first complaint about this hole was because my daughter fell and cut herself open, as the hole is a bit tricky to see if your a 2.5 year old running along merrily. When I called to ask the office about this today they said the same thing they said the last 2 times, which was they would file a report. woo hoo. They also said they would first have to see if dirt was "available"' How can dirt not be available in a planet where the outer layer is composed of sediment' Also as of yesterday the laundry room is closed due to "lack of gas"' What did they stop mining gas on earth' How can the laundry be down for days on end' I've never seen this anywhere i've lived. My question to you is if you are so unhappy with the place why do you not move?? You must love misery. What an idiot. You sound like you must have been late on your rent and probably had to pay late fees and now you are angry with them. Just move on.

What an assinine assumption anonymous! I have never had a notice and if i did it would be from my landlord seeing as I rent a privately owned condo here!(my wife and I together could afford 3 of these places at once and to assume we are poor is childish and ignorant) We are moving april first since I am not into breaking leases like you would have apparently done. The homeowners association is responsible for all exterior maintenance which is a joke. Last night I went to do laundry and none of the driers even dried my cloths and some were COVERED in other peoples hair and a healthy coating of general filth. one of the washers is just stalled out and full of soapy water. You don't believe me? Come look at the place! The hole is there-YOU CANT MISS IT! Code enforcement arrived 2 weeks ago and is outraged at the giant sinkhole and my deteriorating stairs, and have came back 3 times since....this place is doomed and you are a total idiot for making ridiculous assumptions about someone trying to inform other people. I can see why you are afraid to register a real name or email and stick to anonymous coward

We moved out in August, 2008 because we got new jobs in California. The lease says that it can be broken if you transfer jobs which we did. When we got to California, we discovered that Santana, the owners, slapped an $1800 charge on our credit report. That ruined our credit. Yes,the place was run down then, but we are glad after reading these reviews that we got out when we did. We intend, when we get the money, to have a lawyer straighten out this credit mess. I would not recommend Autumn Chase to anyone except my worst enemies.
