We visited this community during our search for a new apartment. We did not find them to meet our needs for a variety of reasons. These apartments are relatively old, the models that were shown to us had very strong cigarette smells - which was an instant "no" for us. They seem to have a lot of police activity at night - every time we've driven by in the evening we've seen cops in the parking lots.

Nicer areas don't need to have a night patrol. If the smell is the only thing that bothers you about cigarette smoke than maybe your technique would work. However, if you're like me and allergic simply covering up the smell of the allergen does not stop the allergy attack.

Brittany Bay Apts. is now owned by Capreit. The staff there are friendly and helpful. They are so busy as Maintenace are as it is a large apartment complex. The apts. are from 1972 but the co. as well as the Maintance are working on to improve it more. The complex also has curtisy security to make sure all is well on the property as it is as I stated a large apt. complex. There are also peeople who tresspass so it is good that the police keep an eye on the place. Would you rather they not do so? Many apt. complexs have the police cruising the grounds B.B. isn't the only one and thank goodness they have them keep an eye on the complex. The heavy cigrett smoke must of been from a former tenent as it is not allowed to be in the apt but outside. What yyou can do is use an air freshner and open the windows. It is a beautiful place and I see many peeople and families living there so it means they like it and I am sure there are those who love living there. The grounds have lots of trees and there are gardens as well and you can sit out on the patio when it is cooler. I love my apt. just decorate and fix it up and you can call Maintenace too and then you will feel at home at Brittany Bay.
