We lived at Colony Square for 3 years.
We finally moved out march 1st.
Why did we stay so long' We were trapped like so many when money is tight.
We moved in after seeing the model apt.
It looked so nice.
But the real reason we moved is the fact that they offered NO DEPOSIT and 1 month free.
So we paid the 675.00, didn't have to pay rent the next month.
We did pay a $175.00 remodel fee for new carpet and paint.
What we got when we got there was NOT the model apt.
and not the remodel apt.
The carpet was "clean" but not new and the paint looked like it was hosed on.
The cabinets in the kitchen and bath were real old, falling apart, and the paint was never dry.
To the day we moved out the paint in the cabinets was tacky and would stick to everything it came in contact with.
The nails were coming out of the ceiling.
The dishwasher never worked, it would get the dishes more dirty then when they went in.
The ceiling in the bathrooms was falling down and the tile in the bathrooms were pulling up.
We had to duct tape the floors so not to cut our feet on the spots the tile was missing.
The thermostat for the AC/HEAT never worked right.
You had to turn it on and off yourself.
The sub-floor was so bad I thought we might fall through.
I creeked and popped.
In some places it would bow inches.
The pool was a joke and rearly open.
The laundry room was nice but only had 10 washers and driers for the whole complex.
The garbage areas were always full of trash all around the dumpsters, and in the rear of the complex was always a huge pile of old trash, yard clippings, chairs, tv's, beds, etc.
To let you know how bad the maint.
was I waited 3 weeks form them to come and replace a broken toilet seat.
After asking BARBARA one time the first week, 2 times the second week, and again 2 times the third week, I finally went and bought one at Wal-mart.(I took it with me when I left).
The electrical outlets are dangerous.
They would spark and blow the breakers all the time.
After many requests to have this fixed I fianally did it myself(I also took all the outlets and switchs I replaced with me) The maint.
staff came out so many times I can't count to FIX the dishwasher but it still never worked.
The mail box area is a joke.
They were falling apart and when it rained the mail would be wet.
The office staff.
OH MY GOD!!! Barbara is for sure straight from HELL.
I will say that Connie was alwasy nice and seemed to care but Barbara would never let you get past her to see or talk to Connie, so mabye that was their good cop bad cop play and they both are from Hell.
Well in the end I will miss most of the pepole I knew from the complex.
I don't know what some of the other people are talking about alot of police action it the complex.
I only saw then in there 2 or 3 times the whole time we lived there.
I will say this.
The last thing to mention was the fact that rent started at 675.00 a month and when we signed the lease for the 3 and last yera we were there it was up th 790.00.
Barbara did get the last laugh.
We gave our 30 notice to leave and then needed another month before our new apt.
was ready.
We were told to put a 30 extention request in writting and turn it in to the office.
We did and spoke with Connie who said they got it and everything was fine.
Two days before the end of the lease we got a letter that stated if we were not out of the apt.
by 12am march 5th we would be evicted.
Even though we were told we had an extra month by Connie.
The letter was signed by Barbara.
When we contacted the office Barbara would not let us talk to Connie and stated that they never got any letter.
Thank God the new apt.
got our apt.
ready and we were able to get out of that HELL ON EARTH!!!
One more thing.
Don't lease.
They may not tell you this but they have been bought by a condo firm and are "remodeling the vacant apt.'s to sell as condo's.
BEWARE!!! mgFDbN4-dhkSMZ7zRmVH
