These are HUGE apartments, about 1200 square feet in our 2 bedroom one. There is no storage room other than the front hall clsoet, it's about 4 feet across. There are no washer/dryer hookups - you have to use their dinky on site facilities or drive to a nearby laundromat (which is cheaper too.) In this section alone, there are a dozen washers and dryers.. for almost 150 apartments to share. One of the two laundry rooms (6 wahser/dryers per room) is open 24/7, the other is not. There is NO change machine anywhere on the property to get quarters from. All the apartments have screened-in porches running across the entire back of the apartment - that is a nice feature at least. I currently live in the newest section, #3, which is in the very back. The soundproofing is good, I must say - the only time I ever hear any of my neighbors is when the weather is cooler and some of us open the doors and windows. According to my neighbor, an elderly lady who has lived here 11 years, the back screen porches have not been painted even once in the entire time she has lived here.. and the paint on my porch really shows it. All along the inside roof, it is peeling badly; I am constantly sweepinmg out there because with every breeze, there are pieces of paint falling off the ceiling. The concrete floor is peeling less, but both are *badly* in need of scraping and repainting. The floor is at least three shades of green from the different layers of paint. This place is EXTREMELY child unfriendly, although they do not outright prohibit families with children from moving in.. (that would be illegal.) But there are no playground facilities whatsoever, all that there is are the three pools. The pools are only open from 9 am to 9 pm and they charge you $20!!!! per PERSON PER VISIT if you want to invite friends over and let them swim. It specifically states in a lease addendum that children are not allowed to ride their bikes, rollerblade, skate, or skateboard anywhere on the property. Not at ALL. A family with small kids that lives down a few doors from me has been given an eviction notice because their children were seen running up and down the walkways in front of the apartment one afternoon. (that's what the letter said.) If I had known about those rules when we rented this place, I most assuredly would NOT have rented here. My boys have been very unhappy about the stupid anti-child rules here and I don't blame them. As soon as my lease is up next spring, I am moving to some place where the kids can at least play outside and NOT in the street either. there is NO assigned parking, unless you have handicapped sticker. there is NO open handicapped parking - which makes things difficult for my mother when she comes to visit. Parking is otherwise tolerable at the moment, but that is only because a lot of the one bedroom apartments back here in my section are empty. When this place was built in the 1970s, they only allowed for one car per apartment.. and these days most households have two or more vehicles.. Not to mention the boats and utility trailers stored outside in the parking lot, the old red Studebaker with a for sale sign on it, or the canoes that someone is storing upside down on concrete blocks and taking up two whole parking spaces to do it. I would sign my name to this, but since I still live here, I am afraid they would retaliate. :(
