Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
I moved into PineBrooke Point about 3 months ago. Things did not start out so great as I had to deal with a new leasing Rep and she was far from helpful. It was so bad I actually considered forfeiting my deposit and going elsewhere. However, things worked out and I ended up moving in earlier than expected.
I was surprised to find out they didn't replace the carpet. In fact, they cut out pieces of stained carpet and replaced it with small pieces of new carpet. Although the carpet was steamed cleaned and dyed, after 1 month of walking on it the stains will show up again. The apartment itself is huge, probably the best sq. footage per $ in Broward County. The 1 bedroom has a great layout as well as all other bedroom plans. The back patio is huge, big enough to fit a decent amount of patio furniture.
The appliances are about as old as the apartment which means you are going to have an outrageous FPL bill at the end of the month. I keep my A/C on 78 degrees while at work and 75 degrees during the day. I don't watch too much tv or keep the lights on. I looked at the A/C unit and it has a sticker on it from a service call made close to 18 years ago. So far during the summer my FPL bill is around $150 which is a lot for a 1000 sq foot apartment. However, you have to take the good with the bad.
The grounds are kept up pretty well but the buildings are in need of paiting. The Coral Key apartments which previously looked like a dump now make PineBrooke look old and dilapidated. I guess it takes a condo conversion to get them to take care of the place. Don't be fooled across the street. As they say you cant turn chicken ---- into chicken salad (it's still bad over there). Parking is a bit of a hassle at PineBrooke but most apartment complexees are.
Overall Pinebrooke is a quiet and an inexpensive place to live compared to the rest of Broward. Even though the appliances are not up to date you'll rarely find an apartment that does unless it's been broken. I would reccomend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a decent place to live. Which is getting even harder to find since everything is going condo.
