I had to break my lease. The management smiled nicely, and we came to an agreement on the lease breaking. After everything was agreed to and my deposit returned, the "home office" reported me to a credit bureau for the balance of my lease. The onsite management told me they would get it straightened out. They never did. They then referred me to someone located in Tampa, who never returned my calls. By 1995, I was finally able to talk to someone and get it removed from my credit history. Two years later, it showed up on my credit report again. The person whom I spoke to the first time was no longer with the company.
