Save yourself!

We moved in here shortly after one of the four hurricanes that hit Florida destroyed the apartment we had lined up to move into. We were lucky we found this place (or so we thought)! When we moved in the apartment looked clean and the woman we spoke with in the office was nice enough, however within a week of moving in we realized that we were not alone in our apartment. We had our own cockroach farm in our kitchen. They had laid eggs and it took the management forever to do something about it. We thought the problem was gone, but we were wrong. The other day we discovered a bunch more. We think they are living behind the cabinets and told the management as such...they laughed at us when we told them that we wanted to look behind there. They said it was too much of a hassle. They don't care because they don't have to live here. It's a shame becuase my fiance and I are getting married in June and we were hoping to call this place home, but that's is not going to happen. We are trying to figure out what our rights are as tenants are and if we can get out of our lease. Bottom line-- the management doesn't care, the maintenance is ok ( fortunately no significant problems there), the fitness center is a ripoff since you have to pay extra for it, the pool chemicals are never properly balanced, I heard there are termites in another building, we pay too much in rent and get too little!! Don't live here, save yourself!!
