Pelican Cove Apartments were bought out by new owners this month and renamed Pelican Cove on the Bay. Management refuses to talk to anyone about what is going on long term. Everyone's rent is going up an extra $200 on lease renewal until they eventually kick us all out or offer us some fantastic deal to buy this 45 year old hole in the wall for almost quarter of a million dollars.

They are pushing the advertising fact to new prospects that we are a waterfront community with direct ocean access. When in reality, only a few of the apartments are on a small dead end canal 15 miles from the port.

They are in the process right now of gutting and refurbishing all the empty apartments. The non-english speaking laborers doing the work are noisy and very messy. They work from 8AM to 9PM, banging and using circular saws and playing radios with the doors open while they work. Meantime we still try to live our lives here until we are forced to move on.

This place sits on a slow sink hole, our apartment is slanted along with all the appliances in it, and every piece of our own furniture has slanted over time. Our ductwork has never been cleaned out. Our porch screens are still ripped from the hurricanes 2 seasons ago.

This used to be a nice quiet caring place. Now all they care about is their pockets. Be forwarned.

I am currently living at Pelican Cove Apt and am moving out this Memorial Day weekend. Management is telling me that I am to keep paying rent till it is rented. My question is this. I have the workers you mentioned above gutting an apartment above me and agree with everything you say about them........ I talked to management today and she said that they are not gutting any of the apartments and the one above me is just being "remodeled". I am not blind and see all the dumpsters, workers, and other apartments being done and she tells me this is not true......... Is there any way I can find some kind of document or truth to approach management with? my email is linda323@hotmail.com. Any help would be appreciated.
