My girlfriend and I recently toured these apartments. We though that since they're on Brickell it would be a nice place to live. Following are the reasons we left (laughing at the place):

1) It smells! The whole building smells of mold, garbage, dead animals (mice), amonia, etc. etc. etc.
2) The appliances are cheap. The dish washers are ancient. The washer/dryer combo is so small I'd rather was in a bucket.
3) Apartment layout is very 1980's. There is nothing unique about the place.
4) Ceramic tile floors = constant neighbor noise. I am sure I can hear people walking in their units if I ended up living there.
5) Major hurricane damage. The building is in a really bad location; between two sky scrapers causing a funnel effect that increases wind speed and damage.
6) Cheap windows/doors = noise from Brickell.
7) Overpriced! We saw better units just down the street at a new building. They were pricy but compared to 1550 they are a bargain.
8) The development is too old to charge such high rents. I want a modern building for top dollar rents.
9) Water not included! Who are they kidding' I am not paying for water when I depend on maintenance to fix a leak.
10) Bad vibes. The whole place lacks calm and peace. My girlfriend got really bad impressions while we were there.

April 14, 2006 -- LIGHTS OUT -- Could this place SUCK any worse!?! I'd swear people in Nicaragua live better than people on "FANCY" Brickell Avenue. So grab your flashlights because 1550 has no emergency lighting in the stairwell or hallways. Get ready to take showers with cold water and to trek on out miles to find a restaurant where to get a hot plate of food tonight.

i had mold in my apartment and I called a company called ER Environmental Group. their number is 786-271-4930. they did an extremely good inspection of my apt. and their rates were the lowest fromall the other companies I called. With the report i was able to take it to the management office and they HAD to take car of the problem. so give them a call and save yourself the trouble of dealing with the administrators without a paper trail. check them out on www.eremold.com
