I have lived all over Miami and every building has problems. If your reading this as an honest review then 1550 Brickell is an affordable alternative to living in a luxury area. The complex is kept in clean, working condition, has available visitor parking, and a great location. The interior of the units are updated and in above average condition - but keep in mind this is not a luxury complex if your coming for a tour.
The staff has its good and bad days and I'm sure has there favorites. They get the job done just expect to ask a few times and you'll have to be patient. Remember that even if your paying what is a good amount of money this does not affect a leasing staff...your already a tenant under contact. The staff also fails to take responsibility when something goes wrong and appologizes are handed out sparingly - but this is the same with most rental complexes. That's the difference between a rental and a condo. Rental life is not for some.
Tenants in this type of building vary, but mostly everyone is friendly and curtious and respectful if you bring a neighborly problem to there attention.
The gym is small but can but used. The pool and area surrounding is clean and quiet and actually a good spot on sunny miami days - but the hot tub does not work - so don't count on it.
Mailroom hours are quirky so ask, power goes out during any storm slightly more powerful then a normal South Fla storm and power takes some time with no emergency lights in the stairways. But again this is Florida.
And if you do move in it would be wise to keep every agreement for your records.

I wouldn't recommend 1550 either. Every building has it's problems but at 1550 no one seems to care, especially the management and even less the maintenance people. I've had my dishwasher tipping over since I signed my lease. Has anyone ever cared to fix it....NO! Also, when it rains, water comes in through my sliding glass door soaking my furniture and floor. Thankfully the floor is tiled and I can dry that, but my furniture is much more delicate. Has anyone cared to fix that either...NO! I've brought it up to management's attention and all I get is a snobbish response that someone will get to it as soon as more pressing matters are resolved. Six months must not be that long of a wait by Brickell standards.

The original review had to have been written by management or someone getting a rent discount.
