Aventura Harbor apts changed management 3 times for the 2 years I rented there Jan04-Jan06. rentfreerealty.com is the broker and it seems they have some kind of connection. All the apartment I wanted to see were not available for one reason or another then Aventura Harbor was the only one cooperating.
The reception was nice and the model was even nicer let you hear anything you want. Once I signed the lease moved in saw the ugly side of the Harbor. It took them one month to fix the shelves of the Kitchen cabinet. The cable company looks like their own sub company with very limited channels access for about $50.00 per month then you have the water meter another $15-$20 per month and if you want the reserved covered parking it is even more money monthly. Parking is on first come first park basis. People over there do not respect the signs. My neighbor a disabled old woman could not park in the handicapped reserved parking because any car parked at that spot even security personnel. Maintenance is not done by professionals at all in the middle of August 2005 I spent three weeks without A/C because they couldn't fix it properly. A/C unit are old not energy efficient your bill in summer can exceed $200.00. Because I stayed passed my lease term they charged me $150.00 extra per month I found myself paying costly Aventura city prices to live in the HOOD.
NO SECURITY WHATSOEVER. All doors of the buildings are open at all times and the hang out in front and inside the building scares your visitors because they have to park so far back and walk through alley-like passages.
No dogs allowed however people have dogs and cats and since the hallway is carpeted then you can imagine the smell.
During hurricane Wilma I was not able to park my car one night in the free parking area so I parked in an empty spot in the covered paid parking then at 4a.m. a security officer knocked on my door to move my car.
For the price of Aventura Harbor which not even close to Aventura you can find better deals elsewhere. DO NOT RENT. Not recommended at all.

Yours is just one of many ultra scary reviews on this place. Can't believe people just stay on instead of coming together and collectively pushing against these disgusting slum lords
