It's all a facade.

I'll admit, it's a beautiful complex. You feel like you're living in a resort; however, at least at a resort you know you get to go home soon. Here, you're stuck with the noise, the inept staff, the even more inept valets, etc. for at least the term of your lease. Here are some of my experiences:
- The walls are made of paper. I can hear my neighbor in his bedroom as if he were standing in mine. You can hear conversations crystal clear as if the wall isn't even there. Then you have the vibrations. If anyone is playing any musice with some bass you not only hear it, you feel it. Between the cheezy Colombians upstairs and the wannabe ghetto trash downstairs I feel like I'm in a bass sandwich.
- The valets are the most incompetent group of people that I've dealt with. You used to have to call 30-45 minutes in advance in the morning if you wanted your car waiting for you. Now they have a list where they bring your car down at a time you specify. This happens occassionally. Sometimes your car is there, sometimes it's not. There's no rhyme nor reason. They will also ruin your car. It's not IF, it's WHEN. Everyone I know has had a dent, scratch, or worse on their cars due to these fools. I personally have had both the driver and passenger side mirrors thrashed because they back the cars into the spaces and concentrate on looking back, forgetting the columns on the sides. The valet company does make up for its ineptitude by offering free coffee and doughnuts once a month to make you forget that they lost your keys and your car.
-There is constant construction from somewhere so don't even bother keeping your car clean. I got my car detailed and within two days it had a coat of dust. The building has no idea where it comes from and can offer no explanation. I had less dirt and filth on my car when I parked it on the street.
-The building is now charging for service calls. Luckily my lease says that maintenance is included but new leases require that you pay the building for each service call (e.g. clogged shower, broken dishwasher, etc.).
-There is 1 laundry room per floor and usually only half of the machines work at any one time. And you have to use them because the washer/dryer in the unit is good for washing a couple of socks and a handkerchief.
-The construction on the street is neverending. They are laying pipes for a building they are constructing across the street so the entrance to the parking structure is always flooded with sewer water. If you want to leave the building on foot you have to maneuver your way around this. It's gross.
