I lived in the Flamingo for two years. My roommate and I were sold by all the hot women at the pool, the grounds, and the location. The apartment we had looked nice as well. However, I was quickly disappointed. The fire alarms would go off constantly at all hours. It took security at least 20 minutes to figure out how to turn them off. Our apartment overlooked the service area. Some noise was expected however we didn't count on trucks coming constantly and allowed to be loud as hell. You would think that some hour restrictions would be put on when trucks would be allowed in and out however I was woke up at 5am by trucks. They also allow trucks to come in during the evening hours as well so expect noise all day and evening long. You have to call/email maintenance several times before they will address a problem. Everything costs extra. Despite all this they still continue to raise rent. They wanted to raise our rent to $2169 so that we could pay more and continue to listen to the non-ending truck noise. They raise rent but offer no new services to make up for the constantly heightened prices. The Memorial Day party used to be fully free including drinks. This is the one party that they would throw for the residents. I'm sure this party cost barely a fraction of what they were making on the raised rent revenues alone. This past year in 2007 you could bring a guest to the party but they weren't allowed to eat any food and everyone has to pay for drinks. This just proves how cheap the complex has become when they can't even be bothered to spend a little money on the one party that they throw for their residents. They can't spend a little money to throw a good party but they will surely raise your rent. Also, beware of your security deposit. They took $860 out of our deposit for and I quote from the letter "cleaning". We had the apartment professionally cleaned by their recommended service Maid on Call. I walked the apartment after they finished and it was spotless. I wrote a letter to dispute this with Sara Griffin who is in charge of the deposits. She left me a nasty voicemail claiming that the deposit was now being taken out for the carpet replacement and that she would stand by her decision. If this was the truth than the letter should have stated this in the first place. After two years the carpet would have been replaced regardless due to normal wear and tear as I was told by their own cleaning and maintenance people. This was just another way to suck more money out of one of their residents. Stay away from this place unless you have an unending supply of money in your wallet for them to tap into. You'll spend tons of money and have nothing to show for it but a lack of service provided by those taking your money.
