The Worst Apartment I Have Ever Lived In (i am not exaggerating!)

I am a very easy going tenant. I rarely have problems with places I have lived. I just gave a positive review to my current apartment. I lived in SGT for 1 year, from 6/04-6/05. It was a nightmare.
The apartment was supposed to have central heat/air. The air conditioner had an on/off switch, there was no way to regulate temp or humidity. The themostat control was a joke. The apartment was so humid that we had to go out and buy a 300$ de humidifier and the place still felt wet. Everything we owned grew mold on it, from furniture to books to clothing. The carpet even felt wet. I called maintenance repeatedly and they just came out and checked the a/c filter and left, over and over again.
They claim to have pest control, but only if you call them and hound them to send up the pest guy. Otherwise, he never shows.
Our a/c would periodically blow out air that smelled like rotten garbage or bleach. Maintenance treated me like I was crazy when we reported these problems and could do nothing to fix it.
The staff is great, before you move in, but once you sign the lease they stop addressing any problems you have. Except for Leo. He always treated us well, though he too was generally uneffective. But you could tell he was trying.
Parking is relatively expensive but, though it is across the street, it is exceptionally well maintained.
The elevators are ALWAYS broken. I lived several floors up and was unable to take the stairs and found myself waiting up to 15-20 minutes for an elevator.
They claimed that the mold problem was completely gone but our entire dining room and bathroom ceiling was covered with the stuff. We used to have to bleach it out. Gross! Also, I never kept the windows open, I always followed their advice on reducing humidity in the apt. The building is just built poorly.
Also, the tenants around us would blast dance music until the early morning hours. We called and complained every time but it never stopped.
All in all, the apartment was terrible.
I can not stress it enough. Do not live there. Trust me.
