I moved over a year ago from Southgate Towers Apts on Miami Beach. After nearly two years of safety issues, mismanagement, rudeness from the staff, and neglect of property maintenance, I could not take it anymore. Just some of the things I experienced: Regular book-keeping mistakes where I was accused of not paying my rent or paying it on time; crazy people discharging weapons in the courtyard; people drowning in the pool; elevators not working for an entire tower; going 3-4 days with no power or water after a transformer explosion; constantly dealing with laundry facilities that did not work; and poorly maintained facilities.
Now, a year after I moved out, I have received a collections notice from the idiots. Again, their book-keeping person has things up and reported me as owing money to them. Never did they send me a notice, nor did they ever call me with their concern. They told me that they did not have my forwarding address; however, the collections company informed me that they got my new address from Southgate.
Save yourself a lot of hassle and agony. Don't live here. Pay the extra and live somewhere else. Don't let their extremely nice leasing staff sell you a false bill of goods.
