Overpriced and in poor shape

I would like to state that I lived in Bel Aire for a good 4 years, and that the management is very fair. The landscaping is good, as the grass is cut once per month, the pest control visits once per month, and the accessability to the Turnpike is great. The maintenance responds to any problems very quickly and does an excellent job.

That being said, Bel Aire is overpriced for the rent that is paid. If you want a satellite dish, you must sign an agreement and pay a "satellite dish" fee of approximately $100.00. The rent is now $800 per month and they also charge you a fee for "maintenance" when you first move in. I was told that it would cover necessary painting, etc but the same old dull, dusty paint was on the walls when I moved in, not to mention the old, dry yellow wallpaper.

The air-conditioning is old and can also pose a problem, as it is rarley cleaned. The vents' Please. Despite buying filters, the dirt builds up in the vents and can be a hazard if you have breathing problems. The apartment also allows pets, and my apartment had fleas that continued to exists despite fumigation and many insect bombs.

The Bel Aire has also grown more and more unsafe over the years. Despite security that patrol the gorunds after hours, me and other residents had our cars broken into. Others have also had their apartments broken into, with several break ins occuring during the day in borad daylight(ex. 400-600pm).

The apartments seem dull and old, despite the fresh paint and new insulation they received when the outside was renovated. The walls are thin, and if you have an active, or let's say, interesting sex life, your neighbors can hear everything.

The laundry rooms are ok, but be prepared to soemtimes spend money on machines that don't work, or eat your change, forcing you to run to the store for more change.

Overall, the apartments are ok, mainly because of the work of management, but they are far too overpriced.
