So, everything you read here applies to the new name, just so that you know!
Yes, the management has changed, but it is not much better.
The management/sales only cares about making money. They will be talking sweet to you when you go, but you should know that, to sell their units, they regularly create inconvenient disturbances for their current residents, and they do not seem to care about it!
This is NOT a gated community, although they say so in their "official" web site!
The units are old, and designed for renting as apartments, not being sold as condos. So, for example, there are no washers/dryers in the units, and the laundromat machines are very often problematic, so you end up wasting time and money, instead of doing laundry.

I just went to take a look at the rentals and there were a few units that had some broken windows...is this from vacancies or was it at one time a bad community? I'm sure since the property management took over it has to improve sometime soon!

I've lived at the Residences since before it went Condo and was known as Briarwood. I have watched it steadily decline mostly due to the developer(Dektor Development) they are constantly on the edge of bankruptsy. Most of the units were never sold. The police are always having to come for one reason or other. A lot of vagrants have busted the windows of the empty apartments and moved in for drug parties. Our security is now the Miami-Dade Police Department. The pools are green, the kids have no where to play so they have to skateboard in the parking lot. The community laundry rooms have no hot water. The now defunct Condo Association didn't have the money to pay the cable so now you have to get Direct TV on your own, because no cable company will operate here. The homeowners who haven't yet gone to forclosure and are still paying the association fees are not getting thier moneys worth. Besides no longer having TV cable, now we live in anticipation of having the water, garbage pick up and common electric stopped at any moment because the developer is having to pay for them and as I said he is just this side of bankruptsy.
