Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I moved into Caluse Cove when they first opened in the summer of 2004. I was happy because they were brand new apts. The first Manager of the place was a strict young lady who really didn't tolerate any mess. She kept the buildings in order and everyone new she should not be played with. When she left because of a job promotion, trash, drugs and inconsideration came with the new property manager. Trash and piss stayed in the elevators (six story buildings). The 2 elvators per building never work, so if you live on the top 3 floors you almost always have to walk the stairs. The fact that the apartments are income restricted will let you know that after only 2 years of being open they look like they've been around closer to 9 or 10. The walls in the apartments are paper thin so things as simple as conversation can be heard through them. People leave piles and piles of trash in the room where the trash shoots are(how lazy is that')then managment takes forever to have maintence clean it up. During hurricane season the water leaks through the roof or window seal somehow, and causes flooding throughout the whole building. Then no one wants to deal with the mold problem. Another terrible problem is the insects and bugs, since the place was built over what used to be a large field area, the ants are abundant, and as you know if you're in a high rise building and someone has ants or roaches they travel faster than anything. Yes, Calusa cove has pest control thats supposed to come about every other month, but you'll be lucky if you see them twice a year. Nevertheless, I'd have to say the most horrific experience was the big ------- Raccoons that come out of the wooded area, which is a few feet a way from the parking lot. When they feel like they need something to eat, They don't hesitate to come rummaging through the parking lot, in betwwen cars to search for food. The fact that they keep the dumpster area open at all times doesn't help this large rodent problem either. Imagine coming home from a long day of work to find a huge rodent waiting for you and whatever food you have. Management has no concern of other people's well being or the way their tenants live. One(handicapped) lady complained to the Manager about the elevator's being out of order and the next day the manager put a eviction notice on her door. Management moves their own family members in the complexes with reduced rents and illegal tenants, but when someone else has an illegal tenant they evict them. I moved from this horrendous place in search of something better, I found that at THE CUTLERS. I'd simply like to say to Calusa Cove that if they don't get rid of the curent property manager, Calusa cove will remain a disaster with no hope of success.
