Rent Increase A Scandal

I moved into this building in April 2005 and thought I was getting a reasonable rent rate. Now that it has come time to renew my lease, my rent has gone up about $560 (an increase of approximately 45%). They claim the market rent has gone up, but someone else in the buidling who rents a similar unit to mine had a rent increase of only $25. This disparity is completely ridiculous - did the market in Brickell heat up about $500 in 3 days''!!! This is even worse given that the pool is never operational, the garage door is broken, the rental office staff are completely incompetent and the maintenance people are rude and will flat out lie to the residents.
