I was told when we leased the apartment that there is high turn around here because immigrants rent here for usually no more than a year to establish good credit. So if you're not fluent in Spanish, you will be if you live here. Perhaps the turn around time explains the high rent, since it is a tad on the high side. The grounds are nice enough and the community is fine for what it is. Some of the neighbors are obnoxiously loud, using their garages as family rooms or patios, since many units don't have balconies or patios. With the garage door open, the noise is considerable. Do yourself a favor and buy fans or a sound machine if you're noise sensitive. The place is pet friendly and most people seem to pick up their dog's mess. Doral is a nice enough area and removed from the rest of the city, which I like. The sales staff are less than stellar, though there's been some recent turn around so we'll see what happens on that front. One big gripe I have is that people park wherever they want, however they want; you have to pay $50 per car to register them with a company that is supposed to enforce the parking rules. There's little enforcement. It's just $50 you have to pay for nothing in return. I've had cars blocking my assigned parking spot on more than one occasion. Plus the gates to the community are always broken. Once they're fixed, they're broken by the next day. They should just do away with them or suck it up and hire guards. However, this is a safe neighborhood, so having the gates broken doesn't concern me. All in all, I'd recommend Camden Doral Villas for a short term stay. Anything over a year and I would definitely recommend renting a condo or small house.
