...you'll feel like your handing out hundreds of dollars for nothing every month. Do yourself a favor and look at other apartments in the area before you decide on living here. When you're paying that much for rent you want to feel like you're living descent. At Camden Aventura the only thing descent about it is the location and exterior look of the complex but really the location. I like to say it's a bad business in the middle of a GREAT town. The apartments are horrible and cheaply designed and maintained. The appliances are old, loud and burn alot of electricity. The management practices are absurd and maintenance requests take forever to be answered as they are always backed up or short on staff, according to them. When the repairs are finally done, it is without care. They sell you gated access but really the gate stays open all day. And that valet trash service they're trying to sell you on, please note you WILL be paying for that, an extra $40 a month if i remember correctly on top of other charges you will be hit with. They're really not up to par with the prices they're charging (This coming for a usually positive person).
I lived there for 2 years and was hit with all kinds of fees at move out including a pet fee for a pet I never owned. They mailed me back my deposit and a month later called me and said I owed them $750 (for which to this day I have not received a written break down, but did for a lesser charge but they still insist I owed them $750) after I had repeatedly called and ask them if I had any outstanding balances at move out and was told NO repeatedly by the guy working there and the assistant manager. Note, I was never late on my rent. Don't try to get in contact with them either because they're never available and never call you back like they say they will, though they won't hesitate to call you to inform you about money you owe. I was furious at first but now I realise you can't control these evil companies but you can control who you do business with. That'll be the last $750 Camden or any of it's affiliate companies will EVER get from me or anyone i'm close with. I feel there should always be a middle ground between a customer and a business and there is none with this company. Good business is always better in the long run. Those evil little policies and bad business attitudes won't get you far. I know they overcharge because when they billed water along with the rent it was at around $60, when the city started sending bills directly, my water bill never went over $15. Oh and people looking to rent there should also note that your rent will increase around $100 every time renewal comes around. I moved in in the 1300's and was up to around $1500 when I moved out with a renewal offer of a $100 more so if you're looking for longevity keep this in mind. I don't mind paying this kind of money for an apt. but I expect to get something good in exchange for my money.
