New Management is truly horrible

I've lived at The Colony for four years and it has become a real dump. Building still not repaired properly since hurricane season of 2005, several muggings in the past few months since the new management got rid of security, and there are always many "improvements" (closed pool, closed gym, etc) the current owners are doing in preparation of trying to sell the units as condos. Don't let them rope you into renting here.

Everything you say is true and MORE! We were living there when the new management company took over. They wanted to make us pay a huge increase in rent and then give us only a 7 month lease. The maintenance always sucked, but before we left it became even worse, if possible. They stopped trimming the hedges and they began looking like a jungle. They would purposely shut down the elevator with no apologies. They stopped doing outside maintenance. The place truely turned into a ghetto. Anyone who would consider renting (or especially BUYING) there needs to have their head examined by a qualified professional shrink.
Stay away from this place. It's bad news....

They have went condo in a bad market. They dont care about the renters now only the selling of apts as condos. The security is a joke. They dont speak a word of Engish. The change every couple of weeks. Anyone could drive in. Worthless. Brian Pata got killed there and no one saw anything. They paved the entrance and beautified the office gave it a face lift with lush landscaping to make it look nice to people buying.
When you drive in further its old and nasty. It fake look drive in a further and they have pot holes in the asphalt, street. Looked great before the place was bought by the Co that is turning it condo they dont care, why should they. They are only iinterested in selling not renting then the market tuened on them. They are also replacing stuff with cheap materials and a crappy look. The former owner had pride and did repairs with quality. He sold after 2005 hurricanes. Used to be the nocest in the area, not now. Nasty people in the office. With its age and how its taken care of the new buys will be spending some money soon to repair stuff. With its age, not a bargain at those prices to buy...As for renting the rent has has way up, quality has gone down.
