Years at this apartment: 1998 - 2004
I have taken a couple of minutes to read the reviews on this web page and I am positive that all of the ones rated "5" are false. These reviews sound like they have been posted by the management staff, they are very cheesy, and over indulgent. I have lived at the Cove for 5 1/2 years and have seen this place on roller coaster. When I first moved in December of 1998, I had the pleasure of working with the worst possible leasing rep Tammy. She was cheap looking, and had the look of a southern trailer park turned secretary. Anyway, I was quoted a certain amount for rent and on the day of my move in it was something different. It was a slight difference so I did not mind, until I saw my unready apartment. The leasing agent had not looked at my apartment. The "new carpet" I was promised was stained, and it smelled like a huge cigarette. The apartment was filthy, there was clothing and personal belongings from the previous tenant. I honestly think that a homeless person was living in there. I did not know what to do and the only response from the leasing rep was that I was going to have to wait to move in. This after a 26 hour road trip from New Jersey. I later came to find out that she was the manager, which did not come as a shock seeing how the property was run like a trailer park. When my neighbors were late with their rent she would yell at them infront of their other neighbors and humiliate them. This was so disturbing because of the uncouth and crass nature that was constantly displayed by the manager. Later, she was no longer at the property so I assume the company must have let her go, from all of the complaints. Now, there is a very respected manager, Maria. She is always available when you need to speak to her, even if it is about the leaves hitting your window. She always has a positive attitude and has made this property a nice place. I don't want to complain, however, I think that the facts should not be blurred by some good reviews. I work up the street and I travel all of the time and that is the reason I never moved out within my first year. If I would have had the strength and time I would have moved out and lived up the street.
