Things got worse over time...

When we first arrived, the Milton was much better. Everything was clean all the time. As the first year passed, things got much worse. Management stopped enforcing any and all policies. For example, guests were parking wherever they wanted, while residents had to park very far away from their buildings. It was supposed to be the other way around. It makes no sense to pay the $50 extra for covered parking, as there is nothing special about it and, when it rains, the covered parking area gets flooded within 10 minutes. (Guest parking in the garage is actually better than resident parking.) The pool area became very dirty, to the point where it was unusable. The grounds are not maintained well at all, with the golf and picnic areas looking horrible. After the 2005 hurricane season, management never fixed up the property. Also, there is no cable tv. If your side of the building faces south, then you can get satellite. If not, you're only option is Camco Cable, which is run by the maanagement office. It's expensive, the service is terrible, and you don't even get a cable box. Not to mention that, even though it's called Camco Cable, it's satellite. So when it rains, the reception goes out in no time. And management refuses to let Comcast, Atlantic Broadband or anyone set up service on the property. SECURITY IS A JOKE. They're supposed to check for a decal on your car before you enter, and if you don't have one, they are to call the person you are visiting to get permission to allow you in. This doesn't happen; they let anyone on the property. Lastly, the rent increase after the 1st year was $14. After the second year, it grew to a $200 increase. For about the same price, we found a condo on the beach with an unobstructed ocean view.
