I would just like to say that I've lived here since about 2005, and I haven't had any problems. Yes, the elevators are down occasionally and I have seen police cars pull up a few times, but that's to be expected in such a large complex. I jog around the grounds at about 5am almost every morning, and I've never seen any suspicious characters lurking around or felt the least bit unsafe. I also enjoy the pool and the gym right downstairs and having a washer and dryer on each floor. And don't forget the location! Lots of good places to eat and shop nearby. All in all I've enjoyed living here, and while I'd like to own my own home someday, Portofino suits my needs more than adequately.

UM Y DO I GET THE FEELING THAT U R A WORKER FOR THIS PLACE....THE STAIRS SMELL LIKE DOG PEE..AND DOG ---- IS ALL OVER THE PLACE..GO BACK TO UR DESK AND TRY IT AGAIN

I would say that this place has a lot of potential, the units are great, laundry on each floor, pool is nice, and the location is great! The renovations that are taking place are great too! However, there are things that I am extremely tired of, such as the fact that the windows and walls are SUPER thin! You hear everything, both your neighbors business, the train at all times, and the garbage trucks at 7am! There ARE plenty of weird people around here, and cars ARE broken into. It happened to my friend??????s car when she was visiting me!! How embarrassing wasn??????t that! So the security is not the best, and they seem to let in whomever! Unfortunately, this place has a LOT of LOW CLASS people with no morals. One would think that as they know that the walls are thin, you don??????t play music during inappropriate times, you don??????t scream in the hallways, slamming doors, having parties-on your balcony! and honking their car horn like crazy, again during improper times. In addition, throwing trash everywhere, letting dogs poop in the elevators, and hallways, and just over all, acting like savages! If people had some morals and respected their neighbors, this place would not be so bad! So people, start looking at yourself! Can you proudly say that you talk with your neighbor, or do you avoid each other? I truly dislike my neighbors, because they are everything as described above, too many days of the week, and I cannot even function at work some days! This needs to be controlled by the department, but they do not care, as this is just continuing, despite the fact of several complains. So, when that is said, it is sad to say that I cannot wait to move out. And, for the person who wrote the very first review, if you are not having these problems with your neighbors, please tell me which building you are living in and which floor and I would LOVE to move there!!:) The Best to you!

Anyone who has anything positive to say about Portofino is lying, plain and simple. I was there in 2005 as well when they tricked me into renting by giving me a "break" in the deposit only to raise my rent every year thereafter and not letting me out of it early as promised in case I had to move. A criminal attempted to pry open my ground floor window in my bedroom at 9pm. The police did absolutely nothing not even bothering to fingerprint the window to catch the guy. A pedophile was living in one of the buildings (check the florida pedophile and predator lists, he might still be there)and I posted his photo in every bldg as a warning to parents. The place sucks, the managers suck and you would do yourself a favor by moving out if you're there and not moving in if you're not. The easiest way to figure out why anyone who lives there now would post a positive blog about the dump is that its the managers writing this bs, desperate to try to save some semblance of decency to the place, instead of simply giving tenants some respect and a better place to live.
