The place you want to like, but just can't.

This is the type of place you want to like. The problem is that the service is very poor. Things are always going to go wrong on a property, but when things go wrong here, it takes too much effort on the renter's part to get action from the staff. I've had the closet rack that holds my close in the master bedroom fall and it took the staff over three weeks to fix. I've come home from a two week vacation to find standing water in the apartment. The fix, which took a week was to pipe up the water heater so you can't change the air filter on the air conditioning unit...and I was left with what I think is a mold problem that has yet to be fixed. The pool is filthy, hair and scum floating on the water each weekend. The driveway has large pot holes after the rains start each summer that are not quickly fixed. I've intervened in one domestic violence episode, another episode involved an explosion, murder and closure of one of the buildings for a week. The company frequently rents the clubhouse out to a telenovela for filming, but for you to use the common space for a party, they charge $500 at last check. The washers/dryers are expensive. Spit and feces have been on the floor in the lobby near the elevators. The toilet in the master bath provides a bidet of whatever you're trying to flush (This has never been fixed after repeated requests). The bathtub does not function as a bath, the stopper leaks so much it won't hold water (this has never been fixed after multiple requests either). All that glitters at Royal Palms is not gold! Staff who live on the property mention that their other managed property on the beach is much nicer and cleaner.
