VKC is by far, the most wretched place I have ever lived in.

Aside from the majority of the community being rude, if you do not speak spanish, don't even think about it.

Most residents speak spanish. The security guards (should I call them that') have an IQ below that of the golf-cart they drive, and they do not speak english. They are unarmed, untrained, and to even call them a security guard is a joke. It's hilarious how Mireya (I'll get to her later) loves to tout how we have real security guards, and she even said at one point that they're off-duty police officers. Those men are not off-duty police officers. They're off-duty mentally and permanently-so, but certainly not off-duty police officers. The buildings are falling apart, the elevators rarely work, they've brilliantly painted the floors in a slippery non-textured finish so that if it rains, get ready to slip and break your neck (if you're into slip and fall lawsuits - maybe this is perfect for you!).

There are birds everywhere, they wake you up at 5 AM daily, and they've nested in parts of the roof. Not on top of, not next to, inside of. If you're Ace Ventura - you're in for heaven. If you however like to sleep in on weekends, you couldn't do worse.

The electricity has problems, going out spontaneously for a few hours at a time. The drivers in the parking lot never pay attention and you face death daily trying to pull in or out of the parking lot. They LOVE to turn off the water for "maintenance" - so showering and using the toilet is always a gamble. As for maintenance' I don't know who these people are they have "on staff" but I'm guessing it takes more than one to screw in a lightbulb. Most of them do no maintenance except for taking a hose to your door and windows every so often.

They claim to have a pest control service. This service must be invisible and conducted by the spirit world from beyond, because I only once saw somebody, and all he did was spray stuff all over your furniture.

Oh yeah, and the lovely bike room and exercise rooms! How could I have forgotten' The incredible bike room consists of a disgusting room filled with spiders, cockroaches, and other lovely creatures, and then for your safety, is a chain laid across the ground. Nothing solid for you to attach your bike to, just a little chain. I'm not sure if the room was originally designed to chain up a toy poodle, or if it was just the victim of incredibly stupid planning. However, don't be dissapointed, there is always the exercise room. If you love 100 year old equipment with the pads worn off and the metal covered in rust with nice sharp points everywhere for your injury-loving pleasure - you'll LOVE the exercise room! Not only is it unsafe to use, but the equipment may very well be relics of World War 1. I highly recommend that you ensure you're up to date with all your shots, especially for tetanus. Not to worry, your pain and suffering won't come for free. Nor will the inevitable theft of your bike. Both the bike room and the exercise room require payment for a special key. I'm not sure who it is they want to lock in, because I can't think of anybody who would need to be kept out by a key.

Now, I've just listed the BEST parts of living in VKC.

Unfortunately, as with all wonderful things (as mentioned above) there comes some bad. You see, the manager is as has been mentioned, a monster. Walk into the office before you even think of buying or renting and you'll see what I mean. All she does is yell at people on the phone all day long. You ask her a question, and she's so used to yelling, she yells at you too. I'm pretty sure her possible tones of voice are 1) Yelling - 2) Screaming - 3) Hollering at the top of her lungs. I get the impression she does not know how to treat anybody kindly or with respect. I also know for a fact that this is why she has been fired from previous jobs.

You see Mireya is what is known as a horrible and shallow excuse for a person. She preys on people to pump up her sense of authority. She believes that she is in charge of the world. She believes this so much that she has illegally used funds in the past, and been involved in lawsuits as a result. Word I've heard is that she's even been arrested for this. I hear the "President" is not much better, however I avoid her entirely. Want to breath' Check the rule book. It's all about the rules at VKC. Normally following the rules is a matter of simplicity. Not at VKC. Want to eat a salad' There might be a rule against that. How about leave your apartment for the day' Definitely worth checking if there is a lockdown for the day. I'm fairly certain that within a matter of months, electronic ankle-locators will be mandatory for all residents. Maybe even electrode shocking dog-collars for all children.

It's simple folks. You want to deal with a dictator who has no respect or caring for anybody, a place that is falling apart, and a good example of what the end of the world might be like' Move in. It's definitely for you. However, if you value your happiness, your family, and being able to simple live your life - look elsewhere.

I cannot wait to get rid of my place and get out.
