Should be put out of business

Never take advice on housing choices from people that appear to be your friends. This facility treats tenants like prisoners from bullying tenants with letters on their doors about stupid stuff, from not being consistent with security and hours that the gate is open, analities in policy ranging from prohibiting the placing of large objects in the garbage dump to whether you can place a cover on your car to protect it from the elements, to where a satellite dish can be located on the premises, to window coverings to protect one's privacy, and so forth. The internet is not even large enough to hold all the horrible comments about the staff, from maintenance workers, to lawn people, to the security workers, to the office staff, and as far as the management and its affiliates. Every single person working for this facility made our living experience at this facility among the worse that could be imagined. From racial inuendos, to non-English speaking staff, to cowardly behavior on behalf of all employees, this facility should have been condemned. The facilities could be said to be nice by those looking to live as if they were living in a cardboard box. The apartments were small (a one bedroom apartment at 647 sq. ft.)and most shocklingly did not have overhead lights!!!!! As students living there, we had to go out and spend hundreds of dollars to even get the most minimal of lighting we could in order to not later be confined to glasses the rest of our lives because of this. The kitchen was rediculous in size, only large enough for one person to work in and even then things open up onto other things. The sink in the kitchen was very small and not deep enough to do dishes. The cabinet space in these apartments is near nothing, so plan to go to the store every few days to replinish your provisions (most likely at the Publix right in front of the complex that the Rilea Group, Vista Verde's management company owns). The bathroom is tiny. There will be nowhere to put a towel, shampoo, anything, so be sure to go by some shelving before you move in. The toilet stops up a lot and when you call maintenance, they won't answer and you'll have to go until the leasing office opens again before you will ever get it fixed. In the meantime, just run down to the fitness center to use the bathroom every time....that is ....when it's open, because the bathroom may be locked at night there in which case you will need to run into the bushes and do things the old timey way. Fun!!! If you need to do laundry, be careful because on top of the machines already not working for the most part, they will act like they are repairing them for a period of time and close the facility for 3 or 4 days and still the machines won't work. Unlike other complexes around, Vista Verde will turn over all utilities to you to cover from electricity, to water, to the phone, to cable. Other complexes offer at least free water/seweage, but not Vista Verde. Instead a normal person will rack up probably near $300 additional a year for water costs. The buildings are poorly constructed so you can sit in your apartment and hear neighbor's phones ringing and sometimes conversations with ease.
