I have moved around a great deal and rented a number of apartments over the last 10 years or so and overall I would give this place a 7 or 8 out of 10. The apartment we have was clean and we had no issues with our move in - much thanks to Andy (who is fantastic!). As right now we have lived here for about 2 months and I am still happy but feel that there are many things that I feel others should note before signing a lease. Right now we are on the first floor and it ALWAYS smells like doggy poop and with the beautiful hot sun in FL - you get the idea. Another note on dogs they have a rule that states that all dogs should be 25 pounds or less -- like everything else it isn't enforced so if you have a large dog just follow the don't ask don't tell policy and you will be fine. Landscaping comes in once a week usually on a Tuesday and does nothing but move all the droppings around. There is no personal patio space and they often blow everything all over our patio. Which is not a big deal but kind of rude.
The gym is awful. The treadmill is about to break down and the cardio room feels like its over 100 degrees especially once you start moving and/or there is more than one person there. When I asked the management about it some guy (not Andy) was very rude and stated that it was very cool in there - for some reason I doubt he works out in there. He had quite the attitude and would work with others in the office if you have a chance over him. When I asked if it might be possible for the complex to purchase a fan he laughed in my face (I am thinking about writing a letter to corporate I was so bothered by the tone and attitude of his response) When you figure out your rent add in a gym membership although they offer classes that are very good.
The front gates do seem to be broken a great deal and during the day they aren't even shut which I don't understand. There is adequate parking and no assigned spots which is nice. The maintenance staff is good with getting stuff done right away but seems careless. They had to come back three times to fix the same problem, and when they did the last time the did not lock our front door which was scary since no one was home until about 7 pm that night. The also didn't change the air filter in the AC unit before we moved in, we had a ton of dust in the apt. and eventually found it to be a filter that didn't look like it was changed in a year - gross!!
When selecting a unit pick carefully - the pool is very active at night for some reason, also on the first floor sometimes all 6 AC units will be behind your bedroom window which is loud! The walls are also like many others have stated -paper thin. Our neighbors for the most part have been great but you can hear everything.
