I cannot think of any circumstances that I would recommend living in LaCosta Apartments under the current management/ownership. Upon renting initially, I was impressed with and was very happy with the staff and management, although the rent was much higher than the property, apartment, and amenities warranted. However, with the ownership change in late 2005, this complex has grown into such a dismal and horrible place to live that I would not house jail inmates here for several reasons, notably:

1) The current management/staff refuse to provide any maintenance of any kind. There are residents with issues of more than a year that have been ignored in spite of repeated calls, office visits, and filing of maintenance forms. When informed that maintenance has been required on some things for more than a year and that forms have been filed on nearly a weekly basis, the staff has reported 'What forms' We don't have maintenance request forms!' This is in spite of the fact that there are blank forms available in the office and residents are directed to them.

2) Copies of leases are not provided to residents. I have lived in this property and am currently living under my third lease and have yet to be provided with a copy of any of them in spite of repeated requests, at least twice a month in writing.

3) Rent changes monthly, seemingly this is at the whim of whoever is working in the office at any given time.

4) There is no continuity of staff. There is seemingly a revolving door of staff. I don't think that I have gone into the office and seen anyone that I have ever seen before or since at any time over the last 18 months.

5) As other reviews have noted, the 'pet friendly' nature of the complex as advertised is certainly not evident under the current management.

6) The regular staff that move around the complex in their golf carts are the only decent and reliable employees of this complex... they are helpful to the degree they can be.

7) The gates to this 'gated community' rarely function at night. For months at a time the gates do not close at night, which essentially eliminates the need for gates in my opinion. It would be helpful if they would be removed if there is no intention to maintain them properly.


I moved from a bit of a distance and this was the only location that possessed available apartments in the area near my employment that allowed for animals. I was very very happy when I moved in. However, I can not at this time recommend any even consider this complex for housing. It is far too expensive and the management is inexcusibly unprofessional and seemingly the management staff take great pleasure in making the lives of residents as unpleasent as possible.

This person is wrong, I have lived here for just as long and I also have pets. This is a wonderful community and the staff in the office is beyond helpful. I have had maintenance calls and there is no form. You simply stop by the office and the girls put the work order into the computer and it is taken care of very quickly. I dont know what this person is talking about. They have free movie rentals and free breakfast on Saturdays. I've also attended the holiday parties and had a wonderful time with the whole staff. There have been some maintenance changes, but the office staff has been there for a year or more as far as I know. This place is wonderful. Give it a try you will not regret it.

i lived there about 4 yearsand i had to move when the new management took over.because they raised mu rent .big difference ecen the complex when through a big remmodeling i thought that hthe management was the worst that they ever had over there . i agree with the other guy.the apartmnet inside ned remodeling the yonly remodeled them from outside .i wouldnt recomend this property to any one is waste of money
