Luckily since my family and I have been living there for so long our rent is extremely lower compared to the other tenants so I can't complain too much.

Pros: Pest control comes once a month without you calling them (this is good for PREVENTATIVE issues, my college apt refuses to do that, they only treat when the bugs BECOME a problem instead of avoiding the problem.

Rent is cheaper compared to anywhere else in Naples.

Decent part of town, not much crime, close to many stores, although it is on a busy road and you could get stuck in traffic trying to leave or come home.

However, when comparing to other complexes, there are some things that Windsong needs. They don't have a fitness room at the clubhouse nor do they have porches. Some families have created a front porch by placing patio furniture scattered in front of their front door. Because of this, there are bicycles, toys, and people blocking the sidewalk when you are trying to walk by.
There are also many cigarette butts all over the place.

When people come over my house who smoke, they gripe about going outside and standing by the front door to smoke so they end up smoking in the apartment and stinking up the place. We can't seem to ventilate the apartment because opening windows doesn't do anything. There is no cross ventilation since there is no porch with big sliding glass doors. When it is 60 degrees outside, we still have to run our air conditioner because open windows don't seem to let air in and it is still 85 in the house from the sun beating down on it.

Unfortunately since it is a "rent-controlled" apartment, many tenants are low income and therefore don't use their A/C (trying to save $) so because they keep their windows open constantly during hot humid 90 degree Florida weather, OUR apartment becomes infested with ants and mildew. I have been away at college for a few years but I visit once every few months and suffer allergies extremely bad when I sleep there, yet I dont get allergies anywhere else.

I think these apartments are about 10 years old and were not designed for Florida weather. Our building has been struck by lightning twice (breaking our computer and telephones) and the neighbors keep trying to steal cable from us by splicing the wire outside.

It was a decent place to live in from 95-99 but since then it has been going downhill. We are moving when our lease is up July 04. I would have definetly recommended this place a few years ago... Now, I would suggest you only stay there temporarily until you can afford something else or buy a brand new house. But then again in Naples, even the expensive apartments have their share of problems.
