Seriously Awful & Hazardous

My husband and I looked at this place and after seeing problems for ourselves and interviewing friends and long-time residents we decided to RUN from this property. I should have known this building was bad from the moment I saw their mismatched, 80's style, garage sale furniture in the lobby. It's not that I am particularly dazzled by expensive furnishings, however it was a Red Flag that the Developer puts more money into his pocket than into the building. The columns holding the building look like they're about to fall down; the elevators malfunction on an ongoing basis, forcing us and other residents to wait 30-40 minutes to get up or down in the building; the residents have had to wait 2 years or more to see the some progress on fixing the destruction from 2005's hurricanes; the carpets in the building were dirty when I visited; and from what I've been told the pool was cracked AND LEAKING for years, etc. This place isn't just bad to look at, it's downright hazardous. Please please save yourself. For the price, you can get something nicer downtown or at one of the newer places. Save yourself!
