Be Warned (updated)

I just updated my review today, because I see others outraged at their treatment of Parrots Landing. I am monitoring this page to see if we should consider banding together and picket this property on Saturday's out front to keep them from renting properties to others now that they've kicked us all out and perhaps even filing a class action law suit against them for the deceptive practices. If you're intersted, feel free to e-mail me.
I am still embattled with Management(Yes, Myrna is a miserable person---I don't think she got any love as a child) regarding my SD as well and other charges. So its safe to say that they are just not the people you'd want to rent from.
The only reason why the parking is improving is because of all of the tenants who are being forced out of their homes and if you want to stay, you still have to repay your security deposit to move into a new unit and have your rent increased over $200 per month. They will give you back your original deposit 4-6 weeks later. They are ridiculous. Don't waste your time, money or energy.

I currently live in Parrots Landing. I moved here 10 months ago. They are undergoing a major renovation which has been totally inconvenient. The contractors take up all the parking spaces with their equipment and work on several projects at the same time, never seemily finishing one before starting another. We have not had use of the closest stairway to our unit for about 2 months which makes bringing in groceries really hard and as I drive through the complex I see several other buildings in the same predictment.
What's worse is that the apartment management did not divulge that I would be forced to move out of my unit one year later so that they could renovate the interior. I currently have only 60 days to find a new place to live. I am personally outraged because I liked my apartment, but as I crusade about the wrongdoing, most of the other tenants have so many complaints about management that they were already planning to leave anyway.
Parking is a real problem here. They don't enforce the stickers they provide for vehicles. There is no security, and the one dumpster they have right up front is overflowing every weekend. Noise transfers very easily in the hallways.
Deceptive practices seem to be part of their operating philosphy---so do use caution and get everything in writing.
