Got Roaches'

Unless you like sharing your life with cockroaches, both in your apartment and in the Leasing Office, do not move into Parrot's Landing.
I used my own commercial grade bug spray because I don't like strangers entering my house when I'm not there. I am a neat person and always kept my apartment clean. Nevertheless, roaches of all sizes (mostly babies) were always present.
The Manager Merna Sternberg is a miserable person (that is a polite characterization), who will treat you like an enemy, even after living there for years. I gave the required notice to break my lease and paid all of the rent due, as well as the one month penalty. Then I received my Security Deposit Disposition. They charged me $119 for rent charges, which I had already paid. And even though they will be renovating the apartment, they charged me $300 to paint three walls and $100 for carpet damage, which is preposterous. I expected that given all the problems I have had with the Leasing Office that I would have a problem just trying to move out. Now I will have to go through the time and trouble of disputing the notice, when all I want to do is get on with my life, in my nice new place in Coconut Creek, and forget that I ever had to deal with the people of Parrot's Landing.
Everything people write about this place is true:
1) BUGS BUGS BUGS!
2) The trash situation is reprehensible. You pay $10 per month to have garbage on the grounds and overflowing from the dumpster, everyday. None of the maintenance staff clean trash from the hallways and stairwells, and many of the neighbors are slobs who do not mind discarding flyers, food containers, and other trash right outside of their own homes.
3) I have had to contact the police about 5 times in 4 years for a variety of problems, including domestic disputes from neighbors, a brawl in the parking lot, fire alarms being set off, and to report being propositioned sexually by a young man in the parking lot. While it's not quite the ghetto (that's up the street), I never felt completely safe there.
4) The parking lot, while being a problem in the past, has not been as crowded. That is due to the large number of wise people who are moving out.
5) The maintenance staff is kind, but work on their own schedule, not yours.
I cannot warn the public enough, but I am going to certainly try. Do yourself a huge favor, DO NOT MOVE INTO PARROT'S LANDING APARTMENTS.
