I have lived in the complex for two years and I regret every second of it. I experienced financial hardships and that is the only reason that I decided to renew my lease for another year. They recently changed owners and that was the largest mistake that they could have possibly made. It is clear why the original employee's decided to leave when this new company took over. I am currently in the process of closing for a home and the owner refuses to release my monthly payment statement to my mortgage broker.
The neighbors are extremely noisy, the elevator hardly ever works (and also smells like urine, and so does the staircase). The pool is filthy (there are always bugs and hair flowing in the water), and nothing in the gym works!!!
The new owners demanded to have all the tenants with a dish (for access to cable), removed from the premises. The only thing that you are allowed to have on the balconies is one table and a chair. There is a laundry room on each floor, but the tenants have a bad habit of leaving their clothes in the machine (sometimes overnight). Or even better, some tenants will remove your clothes and place them on top of the dryer before you get a chance to pick up your clothes from the washer or dryer.
The only positive thing that I can say about this place is that every tenant shares the same grief that I have.

The tenants remove the clothes from the driers when people leave them in too long and dont watch. Management cleans daily, but tenants do not respect the property at times. Management strives to maintain a uniform property with a clean street look and that is why they wanted the balconies to look uniform, and the dishes be removed because they were damaging the building and during hurricanes caused a risk to people. This Tenant obviosly does not like to live by rules. The new management has been hard on the tenants so they can create a nice place to live. We feel they are doing that. They had brand new laundry machines installed. Recently fixed all the gym equipment, replaced all the exterior lights, redid the landscaping, controlled the abandoned cars in the parkings lot. we notice a difference in the tenants coming in as they are screening heavily. This Tenant is upset because they wanted to break the lease and management would not let them. Live by the rules.

I'm considering moving here. I've lived in low-income housing prior to this move. I believe everything you say; however, this apartment is in my budget. Could you tell me this: Was the amount of money worth the size of your room? I'm interested in purchasing a one bedroom apartment. I can deal with the noisy neighbors; broken elevator, and sadly enough garbage. However, I can't deal with an apartment that's literally falling apart. Does management respond quickly to maintenance order requests?

In response to sgsgcaddie: First of all, my lease ended and I had every right to not renew it, so you are definitely wrong if you thought I "broke my lease". The landlord never raised a complaint with me, because I was responsible tenant. so much so, that he put so many barriers in my way to move out. But, that's another story and is not why I am responding to your ridiculous claims. Second of all, I always kept an a watchful eye over my clothes and never left my belongings in the laundry room for long periods of time (for fears that my clothes would be stolen). I was being honest about my experience at Park Grove and it is very insulting and distasteful to assume that my response was invalid or contrary to your beliefs. Honesty is not your strong suite and I suggest that whoever decides to reside in that hell hole take a careful look at all the nooks and crannys before making a decision that may disrupt their lives. People deserve to live in peace and that place was not peaceful at all. This is my opinion, decided whatever you want, but don't let the price govern your decision to move into such a filthy place!
